The increase in globalization has resulted in a greater need for professional translation services. There are many different translation providers but not all of them can be trusted to produce quality work. There are three main questions that you should ask yourself to ensure that the translation agency that you choose for your translation needs is accredited.
The first question that you should ask yourself is: Where is the translation agency located? Many translation agencies offer you very cheap prices for professional translation. This is because they are outsourcing your work to inexperience and unqualified people whose labor is cheap due to the countries that they live in. If you need a translation of an English document to be done in Spanish, you need to choose a translation agency that is located in Spain. This is very important because Spanish will be the native language of the translator. The translator will however need to be fluent in English so that he or she can provide quality work which reflects the original text. It is not advisable to hire a translation agency that is located in India for a Spanish translation.
The second question that you need to ask yourself is: How much experience does the translation agency have? An accredited translation agency must not only have experience in the language that the translation needs to be in but also in the type or field of translation. For example, if you have a legal document that needs to be translated, the translation agency that you hire to translate it should have experience in translating legal documents.
The third question that you need to ask yourself is: How can the translation agency guarantee quality? Most accredited translation agencies will have a quality assurance process implemented that will have all translated documents checked for errors or mistakes.
There is a translation accrediting body in almost every country. In order for a transition agency to be accredited, it needs to prove that it is proficient in the language pair or pairs that it specializes in and the field that the document is about. The accrediting body normally administers an exam which needs to be successfully completed by the translation agency in order for that agency to be considered accredited.
